Wait, is that Shadrach,Meshach and Abednego?

As I mentioned previously, I have been awaiting volunteering opportunities. The one that I eventually chose - was to assist with the elderly. The reason behind this, is because I no longer have any grandparents alive and I believe I owe it to myself to have those bonding moments and conversations that young people should have with old people (while I am still young). So yeah.

When I got the email for the available training dates, I realized that they all clashed with previous engagements. I was not happy. As I pondered what to do, one slot was cleared on my calendar (I no longer needed to attend the interview for the job I wanted - I will talk about that in another post). So I decided to email the volunteer office to see if I could fit into the training at last minute. I was told no, as all the training spaces were full. Once again, I was not happy. Nevertheless I woke up the morning of the training with hope. When I checked my email, I was informed that some persons had backed out and that meant that I could attend the training later that day. Now I was happy. When one door closes, another one opens!

Later that evening, was the notable Guy Fawkes bonfire at a recreational park near me. My flatmates and I planned on going together, but then at last minute they bailed. Needless to say I went by myself - in the cold and in the crowd. When I finally got to the park, I searched for what I thought was an appropriate spot. After all, I had a good view of the bonfire. But wait, is that Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego I see? Seriously why are there three men walking so close to the big ole fire! I guess they were the sign that the fireworks were about to start. Nice!

No, not nice! Why is this tree in the way? I guess my chosen spot was not appropriate enough. Maybe next time. Or maybe never again.

Stay tuned for more.

Cheers,
Davene
