My very first time

I know I said never again last time, but this time was different. Oh wait! I have to talk about something else first. Funny I should use the word first, because that is exactly what I want to write about.

Ha - there I said it!

So yeah, having been here for little bit over a month and with everything that I needed within close proximity, I had no reason to take public transport. But imagine my delight when I got the invitation to attend an event at a neighboring Uni (that's how we say University in England). I informed the person in charge of the event that I had not taken the bus before but I would gladly do so if I was being accompanied.
Arrangements were made and I went to the meeting spot at the suggested time. I called the person I was to meet. No answer. She must be on her way I thought. Then I received the text message explaining that she would not be coming. What? Who does that? It was already past the time you told me to meet you and then you text to say you are no longer coming. Now what do I do? I know, go home and go in my bed until it is time for my class. Well, it turns out other arrangements were quickly made and I had the opportunity to ride the bus in Nottingham for the very first time.

I went to the other University for the very first time. And, I spoke with a Jew, for the (you guess it) very first time. All those experiences were great. But guess what? After leaving the event and taking the bus back to my Uni, I ended getting to my class late, for the very first time! Not, so great.

Since we are on the topic of firsts, let me continue. Later that evening was the first night of the annual Christmas market. I went with one of my flatmates, Kezia from Indonesia.

It was beautiful and fun and we enjoyed walking around the market, taking a few pictures and the live entertainment. But, please tell me why the singer decided to give her own rendition of Bob Marley's "Three Little Birds"? Maybe that's why it started to rain. Certainly now you've found something to worry about because that was not alright. Or, was it your first time?

Oh! Merry Christmas everyone (you guessed it - my very first Christmas in Nottingham!)

Stay tuned for more.

Cheers,
Davene
